Kaihanga

Kaihanga is an in-school lunchtime programme, delivered to Year 7 & 8 students who identify as male and offers a range of activities and discussions designed to build confidence and teach self-worth.

We offer support, knowledge, and resources on how to deal with difficult issues life canbring, while providing a safe and friendly environment to lift each other up.

Rangatahi learn to become their own kaihanga (architect, builder, creator) to make sure their whare tapa whā (four walls of well-being) can withstand the earthquakes of life that can shake our whare.

Kaihanga has been run at Roxburgh Area School, Alexandra Primary School, and St Gerard’s Primary School. We’d love to bring this programme to more schools in the future!
